MIUI 8 Global Developer version has been officially released and Global Stable version is expected to be released within one or two weeks.

The MIUI 8 Global Developer version is stable enough to use as your daily driver. This article will show the easiest way to upgrading your device to MIUI 8 without any data loss.

Note: The following method is only applicable for Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 4i, and Redmi 2/Prime, Redmi Note 4G /Prime, Mi5, Mi Note or Mi Max with unlocked boot-loader.

Pre-requisite:

  1. Download the MIUI 8 ROM Zip file. Click here to download the ROM
  2. At least 60% charge

Here is the steps to install MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM:

Step 1: Put the downloaded ROM into internal storage (not inside any folder).

Step 2: Open the updater app from tools folder.

Step 3: Click on the “three dots” at the top. Select “Choose Update Package”.

Step 4: Now navigate to the ROM Zip file which you have downloader earlier and hit “Ok”.

Step 5: Your device will turn of and start installing MIUI 8. Wait until the whole process is done. Now you have successfully installed MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM on your Xiaomi.
