According to a report from Forbes, Xiaomi is planning to launch in Africa as early as September.
Xiaomi has partnered with Mobile In Africa, the company that previously distributed Apple products to the continent.
With the partnership, Xiaomi devices will be brought to 50 sub-Saharan countries, according to the distributor’s president, RJ van Spaandonk.
The devices Xiaomi will bring to Africa have not been made public yet, but our money is on the entry-level models like the new Redmi Note 2.
Xiaomi is “very well suited to the needs and income levels of the emerging middle classes in Africa,” said Van Spaandonk.
