Xiaomi may introduce its first laptop early next year, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg. Entering the PC market would open new battle fronts against Apple and Lenovo.

The notebook (the MiBook?) could go on sale as early as 1Q 2016 to compete with Apple’s MacBook Air and Lenovo’s ThinkPad, the sources said.

According to the sources, Xiaomi has been in talks with Samsung to supply memory chips, and that initial agreement may extend to providing displays.

Samsung and Xiaomi could not be reached by email for comment.
