Xiaomi is expanding into the world of telecoms services, as it announced on Tuesday that it will roll out pay-as-you-go mobile phone plans in China.
The new service is called Mi Mobile, and will have two options for customers to choose between.
The first is a pay-as-you-go plan that charges RMB 0.10 per voice call minute, SMS, or 1MB of data.
The second is an RMB 59 (US$10) monthly bundle that gives users 3GB of data.
The pay-as-you-go option will be available from September 23. The second, more traditional plan will hit stores in October.
