Xiaomi launched the much-anticipated MIUI 8 today, bringing major changes in MIUI Looks and Styling, Gallery, Wallpaper Carousel, Notes, Power Saving, Scanner and much more.

According to Xiaomi, MIUI 8 beta builds will roll out on June 1 while registration will be started on May 16. The company also announced that Developer ROM will be available on June 17.

The entire Redmi series and Mi Notes series will be supported by MIUI 8. It also include Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi 5, and Mi Max.

The company stated that the looks of MIUI 8 will change according to weather. It also included high-quality wallpaper carousel in association with 50 media partner who will deliver high-quality daily lock screen.

The power saving app is one of the highlighted features of MIUI 8. This will freeze the background app activity, and limits chain start-ups, the company said.

New Gallery app comes with video editing capability along with adding a sticker, doodle in the images.

Minor change including password and fingerprint security introduced in Notes app. New calculator app will allow a wide range of conversions.

Another attraction is Scanner. MIUI 8 Scanner enable you to scan mathematical equations, AliPay, and easy shopping.
