Xiaomi is about to finish the second assembly plant in India in collaboration with Foxconn. The second assembly plant is setting up in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
The plant is able to produce 2 million devices per quarter currently. Xiaomi has stated that production will be double when it’ll attain full pace. The plant is spread across 65,000 square feet and already start production in limited speed.
India is the Xiaomi’s largest international plant. Xiaomi sells 1 to 1.5 million phones per quarter in the Indian market and 75% of these devices are manufactured locally.
Xiaomi is the third popular smartphone device in top 30 Indian cities behind Samsung and Micromax. With full space of the newly set up plant, Xiaomi will be able to produce 8 million devices locally in India.
