Xiaomi releases edgeless concept phone Mi MIX at 25 October launch event along with Mi Note 2 and Xiaomi VR headset.
Xiaomi introduces beautifully crafted design on Mi MIX concept phone. The company partnered with French designer Philippe Starck in designing the phone.
The concept phone comes with a full ceramic body with a minimum bezel. The Mi MIX sports a 6.4-inch edgeless display with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Instead of using traditional proximity sensor Mi MIX uses ultrasonic distance sensor for better performance. The phone sports a 5MP front camera is located at the bottom. The camera comes a with a custom sensor which makes it 50% smaller than the traditional camera. It also carries 16MP shooter and fingerprint sensor at the back.
The phone does not carry any earpiece. Rather it uses cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology which transmits sound without the need for a receiver.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 821 along with 6GB of RAM under the hood. It’ll goes on sale on next month in two storage variants. The 6GB+128GB version is priced at ¥3,499 ($516) and the 6GB+256GB storage is priced at ¥3,999 ($590).
