It’s a great disappointment to Mi fans around the globe that Xiaomi has announced they won’t launch Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX outside China.
Xiaomi Global Head Hugo Barra says, “the Mi Note 2 is strict to be a Chinese phone. It won’t even be sold anywhere else in Asia.”
He also said, Mi Note 2 Global Edition with US LTE support is designed for Chinese consumers who frequently visits the US and other European countries.
According to Hugo Barra, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX is not coming to India also. Xiaomi India product head Jai Mani had also confirmed it.
Jai Mani says, “Mi MIX still a concept so I don’t think it really makes sense to launch it in other markets. Also, we’re still a really small team in India. We have to consider each product very very carefully given our limited resources.”
Another reason not to launch the phone globally is ceramic body. Usually ceramic are costly and launch the phone Globally with ceramic body along with shipping cost, labeling will cost extra money.
Xiaomi has recently launched Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus in China. It is not sure Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus are coming to India or not. Previously the company did not launch Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, and Mi 5 Ceramic Edition.
