How to install Android Nougat based Lineage OS on any Android

Lineage OS is the latest trends in Custom ROM world. This is said to be the successful predecessor of CyanogenMod OS.

Android Nougat based Lineage OS 14.1 is rolling out for major OEMS including Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus and more.

Let’s see the step by step video guide to installing Android Nougat based Lineage OS on any Android phone including Xiaomi.

Pre-requisite:

Here is the step by step guideline to install Lineage OS on any Android device:

Step 1: Firstly, you need to download the ROM. Click here to download the ROM.

Step 2: Download suitable GAPPS for your device. Click here to download GAPPS.

Step 3: Put the downloaded file into device internal storage [Do not inside any folder].

Step 4: Now boot the device into TWRP recovery mode. To do this press the specific key combination of your device. For Xiaomi, the hold and press Volume Down+ Power Button at the same time to enter info TWRP recovery mode.

Step 5: Before proceed to flash process do a backup of your current ROM. So that you can go back to your stock ROM if you don’t like the custom ROM. Tap on “Backup” and TWRP main menu and swipe right to perform a backup.

Step 6: Go back on TWRP main menu. Then tap on “Wipe” and swipe right to prepare your device for new ROM installation.

Step 7: Return to recovery main menu window and click on “Install”. Now navigate to the downloaded ROM file and choose it. Then click on “Add more Zip” and select GAPPS package. Make sure that, you choose ROM zip file first then GAPPS package. Otherwise, your device may brick. After selecting both the files swipe the blue button to the right to start installing Lineage OS on your device.

The whole process can take up to 5-10 minutes depending on your device. Once the installation is finished then reboot your device. The first boot will take more time than normal m-boot.

Now you have successfully installed Android Nougat 7.1.1 base Lineage OS on your Android. Enjoy!
