Root Linage OS

Android Nougat based Lineage OS is rolling out for major OEM devices.

The Lineage OS is considered as a successful predecessor of CyanogenMod ROM.

Although there exist several differences between the latest edition of Lineage OS 14.1 and CyanogenMod 14.1.

One major difference is, Lineage OS 14.1 do not provide full root access. It just provides root access for SDB only. Let’s completely root Lineage OS for getting full root access like CyanogenMod.


  • TWRP installed device running on Linage OS

 Step by step guide to root Linage OS:

Step 1: First you need to download Supersu file. Click here to download Supersu file. Then put the file into device internal storage [Not inside any folder].

Step 2: Now boot your device into TWRP recovery via a specific combination of your device. For Xiaomi, press and hold Volume Down+ Power button at the same time to boot into TWRP recovery. See the video guide for getting a key combination of other devices.

Step 3: From TWRP main menu click on “Install” and navigate to ROM zip file. The swipe the blue button to flash Supersu. Once flashing is complete. Go back and reboot your device.

Step 4: After reboot Go to Settings->Developer Option-> Root. Then choose Apps and ADB. That’s it. You’ve successfully root your Linage OS. Check root validation via root checker app and enjoy!
