It’s been a while Xiaomi has launched their first in-house processor named Surged S1.
Now rumors and leaks spotted this morning hints that the successor of Surge S2 is in mass production.
The Surge S2 seems to arrive on last quarter of 2017 along with Xiaomi Mi 6c and 6s on board.
Earlier, the Surge S1 was developed by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and it was launched with 28nm process.
The first SoC from Xiaomi was not enough to compete Snapdragon 625 or 652 SoC from Qualcomm.
This time the surge S2 may come with a 16nm process which will be a tough competitor of Snapdragon 625 or 652 SoC.
The Mi 5c was powered by Surge S1 SoC and the upcoming Mi 6c and Mi 6s supposed to house the latest Surge S2 SoC.
