Xiaomi Redmi 5A is official now without any prior indication from Xiaomi. The device has been leaked on several occasions in last few days.
The successor of Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with similar design and specs with slight changes. However, the changes are not huge from its predecessor.
The main difference is the newly launched Redmi 5A features an ultra-light all-metal body over its predecessor. All other design aspects are almost same.
The Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720p.
The device is house a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz.
In terms of RAM and storage, there is single version launched with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.
However, there is no word regarding the 3GB variant comes from the company. The company may launch the 3GB version later just like Redmi 4A.
It features a 13MP rear camera that supports PDAF and LED flash along with a 5MP shooter. The device will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery which is slightly lower than Redmi 4A (3,120mAh).
The device will run on Nougat based MIUI 9 ROM. It also carries hybrid dual SIM slot. It also provides support for external microSD up-to 129GB.
For connectivity purpose, it has support for 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and much more. The color options are Champagne Gold, Pink and Grey colors.
The device will go on sale from tomorrow via Mi Mall, Mi Home, JD.com, Lynx, Suning Tesco, Mi Stores for CNY 599 ($90).
