Xiaomi has officially confirmed that they are going to suspend 6 devices from MIUI updates. MIUI 9 will be the last update/upgrade for those 6 devices.
The list includes Mi 2/2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, and Mi Note. These 6 devices are suspended from receiving both closed beta and public beta starting from November 17, 2017.
MIUI 9 Global Beta 7.11.16 will be the last update for these 6 devices. However, the company has planned to roll out MIUI 9 Global Stable update for these devices.
“However, to ensure the best performance of MIUI, we have to make a tough decision of suspending the update of 6 devices after a long-time discussion and evaluation about the release time of devices, active users, hardware performance, etc.”- According to Xiaomi.
Xiaomi has already rolled out MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 4 SD, Mi Max 2, Mi 6, Mi MIX and Mi 5s.
The company will roll out MIUI 9 Stable ROM update for all supported devices including the above 6 gradually.
Update Schedule for MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM:
The 1st batch :
- Devices: Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/Redmi Note 4X, Mi Max 2
- Date: Starting from 3rd November
The 2nd batch:
- Devices: Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 4X, Mi 6, Mi 5s, Mi 5, Mi Max,
- Date: Starting from Mid November
The 3rd batch:
- Devices: Others
- Date: Late December
After receiving MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM the Mi 2/2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, and Mi Note will not receive any MIUI update/upgrade.
