Xiaomi has officially released the Kernel source of Mi Note 3.
Individual Android Developer will have a chance to further develop/improve the ROM.
Moreover, third-party custom ROM builders such as Lineage OS, Remix OS will be able to release their official Android Oreo version for the Mi Note 3.
As the official Kernel source is released, Mi Note 3 users can expect Android Nougat based ROM in near future.
Mi Note 3 was launched back in September this year with the noticeable improvement over its previous version.
The device sports a 5.5-inches full HD 1080P display and carries the identical design of Mi 6.
It comes with two storage version. It houses 6GB RAM along with 64GB/128GB of ROM along with premium Blue edition with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.
In terms of the powerhouse, it comes with a Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at up to 2.2GHz. The device is backed by a 3500mAh battery.
It carries dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel sensor coupled with a wide-angle lens, f/1.8 aperture, and 4-axis optical image stabilization, and the second 12-megapixel sensor coupled with a telephoto lens, and a f/2.6 aperture.
At the front, it carries 16-megapixel sensor with 2-micron pixels for taking a noiseless selfie.
The 6GB+64GB Black edition is priced at CNY 2499 (~$384) and the 6GB+128GB Black edition is priced at CNY 2899 ($445).
The premium Blue edition with 6GB+126GB is priced at CNY 2999 ($460).
